I am a Research Fellow at the University of Newcastle, within the MandEval project—a multi-university research project studying the impact of vaccine mandates on vaccine uptake. See here our latest working paper, which uses dynamic RDD to disentangle the intensive and extensive margins of a vaccine mandate on attendees to a large-scale Year-12 graduation party. Moreover, the develop a toy model to think formally about the effect of similar time-limited mandates on vaccination behaviour in other settings.
My research focuses on issues in Health, Education, and Law & Economics, where I apply modern econometric tools to large administrative datasets to answer policy-relevant questions.
As part of my work in Health Economics, I was also an Investigator within the Centre for Big Data Research in Health (NHMRC grant APP1127437), studying the (per se) impact of IVF conception on perinatal outcomes.
My work in Education is conducted in collaboration with the Richard Holden at UNSW and focuses on issues around pedagogical approaches (see our working paper) and the returns to higher education, among others.
I am also affiliated with the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute at the Australian National University and with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course.
